Thursday swimmingly March 19th

This clay turtle was a gift from children heading to Kindergarten years ago. It's clear how important Mort has been to children and families over many years.

Today is Thursday. Mort seemed pretty happy being in his tank today. He ate a lot of his food right away. Or so I thought. Then I realized it was caught in the new log. So, I took it out for a bit so he could get to the food.

He's doing what he always did at the Center - hanging out under the waterfall from the water filter. You might not know it, but he would swim over every time new water was poured into his tank to fill it up again. Maybe it's a little like taking a shower.
